Which of These Types of Clothing Styles Suits You Best?

Being fashion conscious has always been in, it’s one of those parts of culture and era that will always be remembered. And in the same way, we remember the fashion from the 70s, 80s, and 90s will be the same way future generations remember out different types of clothing styles.

When it comes to wholesale women’s clothing, it’s idealistic that sellers are good for depicting the look of each season and ultimately the era in the grand scheme of things. Because finding where you fit can be a bit tough in terms of staying fashion conscious, we; ’ve come up with an article to assist you in understanding the different types of fashion styles, so that you can find and create mood boards surrounding your own.

Read on for more inspiration as we give you 10 different types of clothing styles.

Athletic

If you’re familiar with the popular 90 girls group TLC, then you know that the athletic style of dress puts the cool in CrazySexyCool. It’s also the equivalent of Sporty Spice in the iconic London girl band known as the Spice Girls. Women who fit this sporty fashion style are usually seen rocking the hottest sneakers. They probably own a few stan smiths, Nike AF1s and feel their best wearing a tracksuit or jumpsuit. Famous women like Hailey Baldwin, Bella Hadid, and Teyana Taylor are frequently seen sporting this sporty look and if you feel as though you’re style is often inspired by them then you’re a sporty chick.

Boho

Bohemian, “ Boho” is becoming a more popular style of dress with the rise in music festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. Frequently boho outfits are loose fitted and layered but there are exceptions to this. Identifiers of women that fit the boho chic prototype are maxi dresses and skirts, ankles boots, fringes, jeans with flairs, oversized sunglasses and floppy hats. If you find yourself saying “I have tons of those!” Then you’re most definitely boho chic for $200 Alex.

WhoWhatWear a leading source of inspiration in the fashion industry has documented celebrities like Alexa Chung and Nicole Richie as frequent wearers of boho chic. If you’re familiar with the popular HBO series “Big Little Lies” starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Zoe Kravitz, yes you dress like Zoe Kravitz’s character. You’re basically Bonnie.

Posh

Amongst Londoners and good friends in England, the word posh can be used interchangeably in the US for our newest word fad, “ Bad & Boujee”. Just think Posh Spice of the girl group Spice Girls is actually Victoria Beckham who is the queen of posh.

W Magazine, who considers themselves The Who, What, Where, When and Why in the world of fashion and style, recently published an article covering Beckham’s whereabouts and outfits. Consistently you’ll find in this article, and many others that follow the lives of socialites and the prestige (Princess Kate Middleton, Duchess Meghan Markle Of Sussex), that posh looks are often comprised of stripes, pops of color, pastels, high heels, and well-tailored garments.

If you find yourself consistently fawning over Victoria Beckham, ogling over high caliber French Fashion or following The Meghan Markle Effect, then you’re most likely a posh kind girl.

Preppy

Another 90s favorite. It’s essentially what Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and Dionne (Stacey Dash) embodied whilst wearing matching plaid outfits in Jane Austen Emma remake Clueless. Elle Magazine describes it as Less Manhattan elite, more London cool. If you’re familiar with Outkast’s outfits in the infamous Hey Ya! & Roses bops then you’ve got a great picture of what preppy looks like and in a more recent example Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) of Gossip Girl.

Remember, preppy isn’t to be confused with posh although the fashion terms are super similar. Posh tends to be associated with a style similar to that of or modeled after the taste of aristocrats or high prestige quality while a preppy style is modeled after ….. Prep schools (you guessed it!)

Hipster

This type of fashion style is dependent on what’s popular right now, but not in the way that trendy is. These people aim so much to be different from the wave of trends that they end up becoming trendy themselves. In the past, fashion styles like vintage, boho or street style were considered unpopular and now they are becoming trendy.

If you find yourself opting for clothes that go against the grain of what is popular now and then somehow end up finding another large group of people who are exactly like you in style. You’re probably a hipster. You can find hipsters at every independent music artist’s concert or casually eating in a new artisan restaurant downtown.

Additional Types Of Fashion Styles

Punk:  This look is similar to that of course, punk rockers. Their style incorporates tons of black and tons of leather.

Vintage: This is for the woman always looking to find something unique. Instead of shopping from high fashion or with fast fashion retailers she’s all about bargaining and snagging an elegant cocktail dress from the 60s or maybe even flared jeans from the 70s.

Trendy: This fashion style takes a look at what to wear based on the hottest trends. Therefore, if kimonos and pastels are in style in the spring/summer you’ll probably see someone trendy rocking a kimono, denim jeans and a pastel-colored t-shirt underneath their kimono. The disclaimer to this is that being trendy isn’t being wrong and doesn’t mean that this person isn’t original, it’s just ultimately what they choose to wear.

Casual: Not to be confused with athletic or punk, it’s essential women that choose both comfortability and fashion. These people tend to opt for nice graphics t-shirts or tees with logos or cute sayings, denim and a fresh pair of sneakers. They’re still is very relaxed yet well fitted is not synonymous with looking like you aren’t put together.

Combination: There’s Preppy - Athletic, Posh- Casual and more depending on what essential items, colors, and patterns are used.

So, what type of fashion style is most like yours? Remember, often times you can vacillate between different styles. Even your favorite celebrities are guilty of doing this. Ultimately, your style is your style and you should always own it.
